James Wood began working in music in 2005 as an aspiring battle rap artist in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He taught himself multiple DAWs while producing and engineering music for himself and a close group of friends.

In 2008, James moved to Florida to pursue the industry full time. He began working in local studios as a recording engineer, steadily building his client list, sharpening his workflow and developing the foundation for a studio of his own.

He launched Executive Studios in 2013. Since then, his work has connected him with respected studios in major music markets, producers, labels and artists while earning a reputation for recording, vocal production and mixing across Tampa Bay and Florida.

James secured his first Gold plaque through work connected to a major-label artist. The selected placements, certifications, sessions and mixes on this page document a career that began with learning the craft firsthand and grew into leading a professional studio.
